SKIP is the brain child of Dr. S. C. Sharma, a reformer Educationist, an erudite scholar, to contribute the fruits of Knowledge to the society. Dr. S.C. Sharma has of the firm conviction that Education is the panacea for all social evils and this prompted him to plunge into the dynamics of mission of making human resource of caliber belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged youth. It involved exploring the innate talent and research potential in them and providing opportunity to carve a niche in their career. He has found engineering solutions to rural issues by formulating topics for their research studies, yielding duel benefits to the society with the logistic support of National funding agencies like ISRO, DST, CSIR, ADA, DBT, GTRE, LRDE, UGC, AICTE, etc worth Rs. Five Crores.
In this regard, Dr. S.C. Sharma has identified more than 3,000 orphans, juvenile delinquents and speech and hearing impaired and successfully provided them education and material support and uplifted them by giving a tryst to their destiny. He has implemented non-formal technical training in Welding, CNC machining, Radio and TV Engineering, Electrical Home Appliances, DTP & Screen Printing, Book Binding, Masonry, etc for the destitute, street urchins and school dropout which has fetched them cozy jobs, consequent upon which the families of beneficiaries have shed the carcass of abject poverty. He is engaged in a relentless battle against penury and unemployment by a fusion of the market requirements and the technical skills of the trainees. He has stood for the cause of more than 2,000 weaker section and widowed woman folk in distress by offering training programmes, extension services, awareness programmes on gender sensitization and this is true way in striving for the cause of human rights, social justice and empowerment.
Dr. S.C. Sharma has established Centre for Sustainable Technology and Clean Energy for the development of green technologies, such as vermicomposting of city garbage, sewage sludge for the benefit of farming community and trained them on biotechnological applications for effective abatement of pollution hazards due to toxic constituents. The organic humus developed using vermicomposting technology has provided succor to marginal farmers by unfolding indigenous job market. More than 3,000 farmers below the poverty line have reaped the benefits of these unique programmes.
Dr. S.C. Sharma has been propagating anti-alcoholism salvaging thousands of victims of the dreaded menace by conducting mass programme for functional literacy for the rural poor. He has rehabilitated 2,000 spastics, leprosy cured children, sexually abused and deserted women through his time tested, proven scientifically evolved simplex educational modules. He has infused Gandhian ideology into the hearts of gullible masses through well-planned Adult education programmes, street plays, AIDS Awareness programme to disseminate the ABC of AIDS to prevent India emerging as the epi-centre for the menacing HIV syndrome. Dr. S.C. Sharma has represented India at the first forum of Global Network of Religions for Children organized by Arigatou Foundation, Tokyo, Japan in May 2000 and at the second forum in Geneva, Switzerland in May 2004 and effectively delineated the Action programme for the Education of the underprivileged children of the world, which has received special attention by the United Nations for possible adoption in global Educational policy making for children. He has established Training, Research and Education Endeavour (TREE) Foundation to promote education and training on need based modules. He has undertaken projects and programmes related to Education, Environment, Society, Gender issues in Health, Hygiene and Sanitation, Growth of professionalism in women.
